Recreational spaces

Sports and passive recreation are a huge part of most New Zealander’s lives. Littoralis has wide experience in the planning and design of recreational resources, including walkways and cycleways, skateparks and sports facilities.  Whilst comfort and functionality are key requirements, we are always looking to fit recreational amenities into their setting.  We strongly believe that the enjoyment of recreation time is heightened when the setting for the activity is a key part of the experience.

We’ve been involved in the enhancement of an extensive range of public open space projects, from urban pocket parks and small coastal reserves through to more expansive parks with high natural values.   We see public open space as “shared territory” than enriches the daily lives of a large proportion of the population, so optimising accessibility, developing spaces that are adaptable and responding to local character are common objectives.  The practicalities of daily management and personal safety are also important considerations that we seek to embody.
